Most Iconic Met Gala looks - LAFLOID
The Met Gala is the industry's most prestigious and important annual fashion event, acclaimed worldwide by design fans. With the purpose of raising funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the event offers the most exclusive and original designs from the most recognized designers worldwide.
Year after year, Anna Wintour is in charge of choosing the dress code for the gala, as well as listing the most famous guests on the current scene. The event takes place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where celebrities wear the most exclusive designs on the red carpet, giving a nod to both the theme and its designer.
Alexander McQueen, Jean Paul Gaultier, Donatella Versace, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Carolina Herrera and Stella McCartney are some of the designers who participate in the event every year due to their reputation and long career in fashion. They are in charge of designing the exclusive and extravagant looks, which must fit with the theme of the year.
The red carpet is the most recognized and visible part of the gala, although the celebration also has a second, even more exclusive part. After the red carpet, the celebrities, along with other influencers, head inside the museum to enjoy dinner, a fundraising auction, and a private party.
This year, the Met Gala is expected to be a tribute to Karl Lagerfeld. Called “A Line of Beauty”, the thematic line will cover all the years of his work as creative director at Chanel (1933-2019). Some of the celebrities participating in the Met Gala, such as Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Cara Delevingne and Lily-Rose Depp, had a great friendship and professional relationship with the designer, so they will surely set the bar very high.
